Highlights of the September SEC Board of Directors Meeting
Atlanta, GA | September 10-11, 2001

Welcome the 2010-2012 SEC Team!

The Board of
Directors of the
Southeast
Conference,
UCC, gathered in
Atlanta for the
first meeting of
the program year
for 201 0-2011. In
addition to its
agenda, there
was also an
orientation and
review for new
members to the

board, the conference and our financial reports. The meeting gave the team the
chance to get to know one another, enjoy fellowship and worship together, and
have the opportunity to prepare for the fulfilling year ahead.

Here are the highlights of the meeting:

9 The Board welcomed its new

members, who were elected at the 2010
Annual Meeting in Knoxville. They were;
Gwen Thomas, a member of Victory
UCC, Stone Mountain, GA, who serves
as the Acting Director of the UCC
Coalition for LGBT Concerns, Glen
Jared, member of Holy Trinity
Community UCC, Nashville, Susan
Dunn, member of Circular
Congregational, Charleston, and
moderator of his congregation, Blair Bonds, member of Central
Congregational UCC, Atlanta, and Treasurer of the Georgia-South Carolina
Association. We were led by Moderator Ginny Nixon of Pleasant Hill
Community UCC, TN, and welcomed Jim Crabb, incoming Vice-Moderator of
the Board.

a Debbie Spearman, the Coordinator of the Conference Campaign to
Transforms Churches and Transform Lives, announced that we have over
$300,000 in pledges, and are optimistic about achieving our minimum
goal of $1.4 million. We remain hopeful about reaching our intermediate
goal of $2.1 million. To date, 12 of our 51 churches have made their pledge
commitments, and four churches have declined to participate in the
